Hello, and welcome to Diagram Club, Issue #035.

This week: We’ve been away, so please forgive a slightly shorter email. There’s an off-road cycling cartoon, an adequate number of new paragraph dividers, and a fairly limited report from the town of Rye.

First of all…

Cycling cartoon of the week

This week we’re going off-road.

Visit to Rye

Last week we went to Rye in East Sussex for a few nights. It’s one of our favourite places, and has the advantage over other favourite places in that it isn’t too far away.

It’s a historic kind of town, and with a few very subtle edits you wouldn’t know you were in a modern-day situation.

Rye with a few very subtle edits

I’m not going to bore you with too many holiday details. But the highlight, apart from wandering around the town, etc, was probably our visits to two nature reserves at Rye Harbour and Dungeness. I can now identify a sedge warbler and a whimbrel.

Here’s my Rye Instagram stories:

Sort Out the House Week, continued

There’s no particular reason, beyond the actual definition, for a week to be seven days, so Sort Out the House Week has continued. I’ve been dealing with my paperwork, which sounds dull, and probably is, but is very necessary and will, I think, make a big difference to my working life.

Among the things that needed to be dealt with was The Very Tall Pile of Newspapers. Diagram Club Paid readers can read more about the reason for The Pile and what happened to it, below. It’s pretty gripping stuff.

Thank you for reading - that’s more or less it for this week.

Content, this week all about The Very Tall Pile Of Newspapers, continues for Diagram Club Paid members below The Line.

If you’ve missed any Diagram Club emails and would like to catch up you can find the complete archive (which is free to read) here: diagramclub.substack.com.

The plan is to be back soon with issue #036. Speak to you then.
